Bio

PAVLINA KRIVY BIO: Originally trained as an architect in the Czech Republic, Pavlina, a self-taught stained glass artist, has been working in copper foil method for several years. In 2016 she fell in love with warm glass art, fusing and glass frit painting. Combining her admiration of vibrant masterworks found in original windows of historic buildings, passion for glass and the love of the great outdoors, she takes inspiration from visits to Central Europe, her original home, hiking and kayaking time in the majestic Rockies, and from moments enjoyed in her own back yard. Currently some of Pavlina’s glass landscapes can be seen at Strathmore Art Gallery in Strathmore, Alberta, Canada. During the past 7 years Pavlina’s unspoiled wilderness inspired pieces have made a regular appearance at a juried group exhibit at Radium Hot Springs Glass Art Show in British Columbia, Canada. In early 2017 one of Pavlina’s frit paintings became part of a group online exhibit organized by PinqSaq Gallery and her work also appeared in Snail Mail World Postcard Art Show. In autumn 2016 one of her panels was selected among various media artworks to accompany the written word in the latest book of Nature Inspired Anthologies. Pavlina participated in several juried international online art shows organized by LightSpace&Time Online Gallery earning Honorable Mention, Special Merit and Special Recognition awards. In 2014 and early 2016 some of Pavlina’s glass panels were recognized during ArtAscent Art & Literature Magazine’s international art calls, with 3 of her works published. Her downtown Calgary scene ‘The Beacon – The City Shines Through The Night’ appeared in ‘City Map in Verse and Visual’ publication. In 2013 Pavlina took part in The Alberta Flood Rose Project, Calgary and area visual artists’ collaboration in support of Canadian Red Cross Flood Relief. Pavlina currently resides in Calgary area, Alberta, Canada.

Create focus, September 3, 2020 5 stars
Pros
This bevel cluster works perfectly for framing smaller pieces which need an extra dimension not necessarily executed in coloured glass. The inserted piece immediately pops into focus when framed with circle bevel.

Would work wonders in coloured bevelled glass for the opposite effect - to frame picture made of textured clear glass...

Studio must, September 1, 2020 5 stars
Pros
This core drill bit value pack offers a great choice for anyone drilling holes in fused glass art quite often. Various sizes allow for different ribbons etc. to be used to hang projects plus the bits work way better than a solid diamond bit I was using prior to finding these.
Cons
None found
Other Thoughts
An amazing option for a glass artist on a budget
