Bio

As a retired facial plastics and reconstructive surgeon, I have found a way to transfer my surgical skills to the glass studio and render amazingly unique pieces of art. Having worked with stained glass for many years, it’s only within the last 8-10 years that I have created glass mosaic images on window panes highlighting scenes of nature and creative drawings. More recently, I have developed a new technique to give 3-D form to Mardi Gras masks. A December 2012 trip to New Orleans with mask in hand revealed that none of the shops there had seen anything like it. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, my wife, Pam, and I have now settled in McMinnville, Oregon right in the center of wine country. My inspiration is drawn from not only the beautiful scenery around us but also by the numerous years spent traveling to third world to operate on children with cleft lip and palate problems. Helping those kids and their families to see better images of themselves is similar to creating a piece of glass art that can be appreciated by many.
