Bio

British born glass artist Stephanie Walton began her artistic career as a photographer, enjoying many years behind her camera, traveling three-quarters of the world. Always fascinated by glass and its exciting expressiveness of creativity, she finally allowed herself the opportunity to explore this new world. The uniqueness of glass art enables artists to experiment in the color, light and inspiration of the art of glass fusion. It can be precise and also contain a quiet fluid uncertainty reflecting creations that even the artist did not anticipate. There is an unbelievable joy in creating art through and with glass. The artist can combine many different types of glass and techniques to achieve a vision of beauty, chaos and strength. Glass is bold, fragile, unique and inspiring. It has a soul. I create my finished pieces to catch the eye and ultimately the heart of the keeper of that created piece. I delight in the discovery of creating "just what" the recipient was imagining, without even knowing if their paths will ever cross. To create is to breathe.
