These nippers work about as well as all the others I’ve bought over the years. every pair I've owned, one or both wheels come loose time to time. As you figured out, the wheels don't actually "turn" when you snip over and over. They actually stay stationary. This may be why you think they go dull too soon. One trick I do is to make 2, little black dots with a sharp right where the wheels would meet. Every month or so. I manually turn the wheels up a degree or so. This assures me I'm using a new, sharp cutting surface and I just keep doing this over time till they meet in the middle again. Time for new wheels!		 Cons
