Dichroic Alchemy Photographs can never do justice to the ever-sparkling, ever-changing appearance of Monika’s jewellery. The translucent cabochons and faceted inlays are a kaleidoscope of shimmering colours and shapes, each with the iridescent quality of a fire opal or a dragonfly’s wings. Incredibly, no landscapes have been razed to mine these ‘gems’ With a background in jewellery, fashion, furniture design and painting it was an easy step to get into glass fusing.Glass is the most exciting and fascinating of all the artistic mediums I have worked with and, very importantly, it’s environmentally-friendly! Monika has now incorporated her knowledge of dichroic glass into her fabulous jewellery designs. Her inventiveness and renaissance spirit constantly feed her desire to experiment with new forms.
