Mack Bear Kaleidoscope Gallery is our seasonal gallery in East Boothbay, Maine was originally a summer Methodist chapel built from 1911 to 1913. We worked on the building day and night through the winter of '97 and opened the beautiful French doors to the public that May. We have worked on and in this glorious building since then, and our painted lady has been an inspirational home and gallery. The stained glass windows are original to the building and compliment the fused glass jewelry, stained glass kaleidoscopes, glass designs, gift collectibles and even the original paintings and prints. Every item in the gallery is hand crafted by us. Most of the items can be found on-line. The gallery is open during the tourist season, June to October, most days from 10 to 5. During the off-season we are busy designing and creating new glass artworks, jewelry and paintings in our studios in Cape Carteret, North Carolina. George Bear is the Stained Glass and Fused Glass worker who produces the collectible and award-winning kaleidoscopes and Fused Glass Candle Holders, Vases and Wind Chimes. He continues to create new and dynamic art and jewelry in fused glass and dichroic glass. His decorative glass art has taken a new path with his Vitrigraph Kiln creations fused into glass wall art and handmade jewelry and incredible bowls made of triple layers of fused glass with Vitrigraph Kiln designs throughout the artworks. Susan Mack Bear is a painter but works with George in their studios in East Boothbay, Maine and in Cape Carteret, NC, creating whimsical fused glass and jewelry designs.
