Bio

Bridget Stiverson currently lives in Central Missouri with her husband Scott and daughter. Born in Kansas and raised in Texas, Bridget has lived in numerous communities throughout the United States as well as overseas on Guam. During her career, she has filled many positions including a former bank regulator, former banker and independent contractor. While working on pottery projects at Eastern Wind Glass in Bremerton, WA in 2008, Bridget decided on a change of pace and took her first fused glass class. During this class, she discovered that this is the medium she really wanted to pursue. Since then she has expanded her knowledge base through books along with additional classes taught by Lisa Becker at Art Glass Array in St. Charles, Missouri and Dan Fenton of Alameda, California. In 1993, Bridget met her husband when they were both living on Guam. Scott was in the Navy at the time and continues to serve 15 years later. Due to his military career, the Stiverson’s have moved five times, with their final (hopefully) move to Missouri. One of the caveats of accepting orders to Missouri was the purchase of their own house that included a room for a kiln and workshop. Scott came through with not only a house with an attached workroom off of the garage, but also included is additional space to store and cut glass when the Missouri winters are too cold to work in the outer workshop. “Over the last three years, working out of my own studio, has allowed me to explore various techniques utilized in designing fused glass pieces. One of my favorite processes is creating flow in glass that was not already obtained during the manufacturing process.
