Bio

Charity Stewart, "Momma Mosaics" works from her home studio in Portland, Oregon where she performs the juggling act of being a mosaic artist and stay-at-home mom. She discovered the joy of working with glass as a child, by helping her grandmother cut and assemble pieces for a stained glass window project. That lesson in creativity launched her interest in glass art and eventually mosaics. Inspired by the beauty in nature, Charity creates unique mosaic art for the home and garden using hand cut glass, recycled materials, natural stone, scrapbook paper, and other found treasures. Her focus now is experimenting with the magic of mixing color, texture, and words to transform something old and discarded into something new, inspirational and unexpected. She believes that a piece of work should speak to you, make you feel, make you smile, inspire you or delight you. Charity is an award winning artist who has a true passion for her medium and finds that her art is in a constant state of evolution as she explores the never ending possibilities of mixed media.
