Weller 100 Watt Soldering Iron
If it works well, it is a great iron.
Tip is not evenly hot, have had bad experiences with three irons over the last year.
I was always told that Weller was the iron to have if you intend to have stained glass work as a serious hobby. My father bought one of these irons in the 80's and it was still working when I took up the hobby three years ago. It finally gave out early in 2010 and I ordered a replacement, without hesitation. That iron had cool spots and the solder didn't flow like I thought it should. Come to find out, there was a recall of the irons and mine was a bad one. I sent my iron back and it was quickly replaced with a brand new iron. It worked great for the first two times I fired it up. Then the third time, it just quit. I called their customer service and got another replacement iron. I just started using it this past weekend, and much like the "recall" iron, it has cool spots and does not perform at all like I feel it should. Am going to buy another brand.
