Hummingbird Art Glass Studio, a place to find artisan fused glass jewelry and art glass home decor featuring designs combining vibrant colors with contemporary elegance for unique personality and style. I have always loved glass. My original inspiration was from a glass artisan in Colorado with whom I traded my expertise in horse training for a beautiful stained glass panel featuring a hummingbird, my favorite bird. Kiln formed glass art and art jewelry is entwined with my passion for the beauty of nature. Color is an essential part of my work, and nature is my primary source for inspiration. I am constantly evolving and learning new processes for my work.

Has anyone here had any experience with the large lamp shade drape mold? I'm getting ready to use it to create a fused glass lamp shade. (item #806164) I've downloaded the PDF User Manual and noticed that it says to use "suitable glass separator". I was planning to use Primo Primer. Will I also need to use Thinfire paper? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Jackie

Great Glass Pack, January 13, 2011 5 stars
Pros
A really great sampling of Bullseye glass with enough variety to get creative. All my sheets were 10x10 which works well for me. Would definitely recommend this product and would buy again!

Great Way to Start, January 3, 2011 5 stars
Pros
I am very new to kiln work so the Studio in a Box was perfect to get me started. The included fusing book is great, very easy to understand and I am working my way through the chapters as "lesson plans". I would highly recommend this as a "beginner's kiln" since it has so much ability for me to advance my skills as I go.
Cons
The glass included could be more "mix & match" color compatible. I'm using these to learn as I create and only 4 of the 8 can be combined to make an attractive piece.
Other Thoughts
I plan to set the kiln on 12" concrete blocks to make it easier on my back.

I recently purchased the Studio in a Box (Easy Pro 15-6 kiln) and I love it. I've made a few coasters to start getting familiar with the process. Both have turned out great except they appear to have a few very tiny "pin pricks" on the surface. I'm using the directions/firing schedule from Contemporary Fused Glass Chapter 8 with the glass provided with my kiln package. Any suggestions? Jackie
