Bio

Sister Butterfly was named for my sister, who left my world way too young. She was creative and beautiful and I miss her everyday. She comes to me in my dreams and in times of stress. I often feel her presence and then I look up and there is a butterfly. Everything about this store is in honor of her. My name is , Deanne and I am a mixed media artist living and working in sunny southern, CA. Many of you know me from Etsy & ArtFire. I have been making my boxes for about 8 years now. I take pride in creating wonderful things, for people who appreciate pretty, hand-made treasures. I do custom items, by request. Some of my custom items include, Wedding Keepsake Boxes, Baby Memory Boxes, and boxes in themes and colors for any occasion. Although I work alone... my three beloved chihuahuas, Pickle, Petals & Paisley are almost always with me in my studio where I work. We often take a mid-afternoon break to visit our many friend's at our local Dog Park. I also create custom collages, so from time to time you'll see some examples in my blog. Prior to Sister Butterfly, I had a jet set life in, fashion. Now on most days, you'll find me in the throws of mixed media ecstasy in my sweet little studio. I feel extremely lucky to make a living doing what I love. I enjoy the very simple things in life, family, friends, books, yoga, graphic design & riding my bike. I am an Apple/Mac lover. I also enjoy my many online customers. Creating is what I love most and I take great pleasure in creating the perfect item for my customers. Any other questions?
