Dawn Beckwith is the owner and principal artist of Dawn of Creation now on Etsy! Since early childhood, I have been fascinated by glass and the play of light coming through windows. From early memories of church windows, glass and the awe it inspired in me has forever become intertwined with the feeling of divinity. I love that working with glass feels as if you're dealing with a living organism. Not purely a solid, not purely a liquid, molten glass seems to have a mind of its own and that's exactly what I love about it. Making art glass is a cooperative effort... between you and the glass.... I prefer minimalist designs, where the form and color of the glass can shine. There are many artists who love to display a high level of technique, hardwon and impressive. I prefer to allow the glass to help decide what it wants to be...
