How can I fuse a "channel" in glass to be able to string it for jewelry? Can it be done in a microwave kiln? Thanks :-)

These little pliers are cute, but I wanted them to break my glass. I could not get them to cleanly break even a single cut. I needed to borrow my husbands' running pliers, which work like a charm.
