Bio

Originally from Santa Paula, California, I've lived, worked, and raised my family in Phoenix, Arizona. Blessed (or cursed) with unending creative curiosity; all my life my friends and family have encouraged me to make and sell my art. I draw, paint, sculpt, and sew. Being an artist for a living never seemed possible so of course I went out and worked “real” jobs, technical writer, training specialist, proposal writer among of host of other office and computer user positions. But all those years, I went home from work and if there was time, I would do what I loved most, landscape painting mostly, with the occasional sculpt (fantasy figures, portrait, animals). But usually my efforts were used to encourage my daughters to create art, clothing, even crafty ways of organizing and beautifying our home. Now semi-retired living in Sugar Land, Texas, with my engineer husband, I'm finally creating art like I've always promised myself since childhood. My current love is stained glass, with which I make my own original designs, produce my own patterns, and hand shape and build every single piece. Of all the art mediums I’ve used throughout my life, stained glass has become the most elegant, beautiful, valuable, and challenging medium I’ve ever used. I’m hooked. And now I am emboldened enough to take the next step! Only with an Etsy shop I would consider moving forward into “handmade” commerce; so far Esty has been wonderful for me, this community is growing, smart, and has LOADS of business training resources and advice. I believe that with the support of the Etsy community, I will have the best chance for achieving my personal dream: To fulfill my dreams of being an artist.
