Bill K Glass Designs's Profile
Bio
I started doing stained glass over 30 years ago. I had gotten more involved working with stained glass when I retired from my career as an electrician. Since my time of retirement, I have taken a number of classes pertaining to stained glass. These classes involved making glass panels, lampshades and a variety of fused glass pieces. When living in East Aurora, New York, I was a member of the Roycroft Renaissance Artisan group.
After moving to Suffok, Virginia, I got involed with the art groups in my area and continued my education in stained glass. I have taken a full semester class at Tidewater Community College Visual Art Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, which involved fused glass, glass casting and painting. My interest is in making lamp shades of different designs and sizes.
Here in Virginia, I am involved with the Suffolk Art Museum and member of the Suffolk Art League. At the museum I have done a number of shows and donate my time whenever needed. I am a member of the Isle of Wight Art League which is located in Smithfield, Virginia and do shows there.
I plan to continue my education in the art of glass to improve my skills and techniques and looking foward to my future shows.
