Bio

Ars Lumina designs are based on the drawings and sculpture of Renata Pugh. The compositions have been adapted and refined to embrace the glass-cutting process. After outlining the design for each side, various decorative soldering techniques are employed to attach each piece and develop the overall structure of the lamp. Careful consideration is used when choosing the placement of each element. Materials such as glass, agate, and gemstones are introduced to create an organic feel, as well as to ensure a balanced yet dynamic composition. The final, overall effect is one of bold elegance--exciting and whimsical, yet calming and serene. The lamps range from 9 to 15 inches in height, and utilize 15 to 40 watt candelabra bulbs in order to create a full “color-splash” lighting effect. Each lamp is signed and dated by the artist
