Susan began working with glass in 2001 and founded Smash Glassworks as an independent business in 2009 when, by word-of- mouth, commissions began to generate. At the same time, Susan began documenting her works in a blog, which serves as an ongoing record of Smash Glassworks projects (www.smashglassworks.blogspot.com). Further employing existing technical expertise to develop an online following, the Smash Glassworks web site was launched in 2010 (www.smashglassworks.com), joined by an online shop at Etsy.com in 2011, which has resulted in both sales and enthusiastic
consumer feedback in Canada and the United States (www.etsy.com/shop/smashglassworks).
Susan is trained in both the traditional leaded came and contemporary copper foil approaches to stained glass and creates original designs for both stained glass and mosaic work using vector-based computer aided design.
