Susan Gay,is the principal stained glass and mosaic artisan for Smash Glassworks who marks a bold stamp on this time-honored craft withbold and innovative designs and functional artwork. She has a professional background in graphic design, web design, technical writing, and information systems. Employing inspiration from a wide variety of cultural traditions and historical periods, together with strong color choices and varying degrees of intricacy, each design is an original. With a background in professional web and graphic design and internet technology, Susan brings a fresh and modern perspective to the art of stained glass and mosaics. Susan began working with glass in 2001 and founded Smash Glassworks as an independent business in 2009 when, by word-of- mouth, commissions began to generate. At the same time, Susan began documenting her works in a blog, which serves as an ongoing record of Smash Glassworks projects (www.smashglassworks.blogspot.com).
