Bio

I began my new art career as a mosaic tile artist in the summer of 2012, after spending two and a half decades as a computer consultant and website designer. In the early nineties, I remodeled a bathroom floor with my husband using ceramic tile and took a strong liking to grout... ah the seed was planted! It grew for 20 years until one day I decided to set my computer consulting business on the back burner and put my passion for grout to work. I created a small studio in my home, built up an inventory of porcelain and glass tile, acquired the necessary tools and supplies, and embarked on my first tile project. Picking subjects was easy. I used something near and dear to my heart — our Old English Sheepdog and our Boston Terrier! It made sense to specialize in realistic reproductions of certain dog breeds; then, for a change of pace, I created a couple of zesty cat designs. I jokingly started calling myself the Mosaic Mademoiselle, and the name stuck. So, I registered the domain name, built a website, and opened an etsy store. The best part? I am having fun... I hope you are too!
