I began building in stained glass in 2011 as a hobby interest. It has become a bit of an obsession as I find great pleasure in watching the transformation as the combination of color and light come together.
In 2015, I decided to use my hobby as a fundraising avenue for my daughter’s swim team. I designed a line of holiday ornaments and donated a portion of the sales to that organization. The feedback and success from that venture lead me to building my Etsy shop, participating in local fairs, markets, and craft shows, and developing this web-site.
The holiday ornaments continue to be a major part of my business. From the ever popular Picasso inspired Peace Dove (also great for Weddings, Christenings, and Confirmations), and the fun and festive Whimsical Trees, to the peaceful Angles and more traditional shapes. Each year I add new or different elements to the line so there’s always something new for anyone. Another main stay in the collection is my “cause” ribbon. The glass ribbons are available in three sizes (3”, 5”, and 7”) and can be custom made in almost any color. For the past several years, after the holidays are over, I get a few months to be more creative. In 2016, I free form designed the Whimsical Fish series. These pieces included a combination of glass beads, stained glass, and copper. Each is a one-of-a-kind piece. “Whimsy Fish” swam all the way across the country to land in Boston, MA, while “Bubble (aka Squishy) Fish” was caught just off the Oregon Coast. “Princess Fish” found her home on the beaches of San Diego. Starting in 2017 and now 2018 my artistic focus has been on the transformation of Hungarian embroidery patterns into glass interpretations. "Tavasz" and "Drágaköves Virágok" were recognized award winners at the 2017 Oregon State Fair Fine Arts and Arts and Craft displays. This year bigger and brighter pieces are in the works.
