Le Breton Traditional's Profile
Bio
I have been working professionally in leaded and painted glazing since 2004. Commissions and repair work was initially mainly based on domestic leaded stained glass however I am now undertaking larger church commissions and repairs, The focus of my work is increasingly painted, silver stained and enamelled commissions and I am working on larger architectural pieces. I began in Glass studying fused glass in my Fine Art degree I initially I learnt glass leading skills in F.E classes with Ann Pengelly (The Good Shedherd Studio, Seaton, Devon), From that point a great deal of my knowledge development has been by my own endeavours and research, undertaking larger and more complex commissions. I have reinforced my painting, staining and enamelling knowledge by attending Jonathan Cooke’s Masterclasses at the Swansea School of Glass. My educational grounding in drawing and painting through my degree leads me to want to explore those possibilities in glass painting and staining through undertaking larger commissions and repair work. I am fascinated by the use of colour to convey the emotional as well as visual.
