Bio

I am a self-taught stained glass artist based in San Marcos, Texas. Having studied and practiced various art forms and music over the years, I settled on stained glass about ten years ago, and now I create original stained glass art at my studio here in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The rugged beauty of my surroundings and the rich musical heritage of Central Texas influence my art, and I find my artistic voice in combining natural elements and metal with glass. My creations involve both the copper foil and leaded methods of constructing stained glass. In addition to the traditional flat panels associated with the medium, I like to include non-glass materials in my work, including wood, metal or wire, stones, beads, etc. I also experiment with 3D formations, taking flat glass into new shapes and possibilities. Stained glass does not have to be confined to window space only, and I often employ back-lighting in my larger works, giving them the added ability to be hung as wall art.
