Paper Moon Arts's Profile

Bio

I learned many skills growing up on a farm in a small town community. While I did not study art in school, I recognized it in many forms of architecture. The front window in the house I grew up in had beveled glass at the top. I had a handicraft project in 4-H that included some woodworking and mosaics. I always admired stained glass windows in churches and elsewhere. As an adult, I was encouraged by Anne to pursue classes in the art of stained glass. I took instruction in 2004 and now I have my own glass workshop at home. I have created panels and lamps in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Comfort Tiffany, for commissions, for family and for our home. Southwestern and Prairie designs are favorites. I like to fit the project style to the architecture or surroundings, just as Frank Lloyd Wright thought that the design should be organic, compliment the environment. I find that working with stained glass is satisfying and a diversion from the stressful everyday computer work. It is a Healing Art.
