My husband and I were walking around the shops in Berkeley California and saw a sign for a fused glass class over the weekend. We took that class together and had so much fun that I started fusing glass the very next week. He found an old industrial kiln for me that held a 4" X 8" kiln shelf and I was fusing little experiments every day. I took over the dining room and I wore a timer around my neck so that I would remember to change the settings on the kiln since there weren't many computer controllers then. Fusing glass has been my passion for 25 years and dichroic glass is just the most wonderful material available. I really love the colors. Dichroic glass lets me to make the most vibrant fused glass jewelry imaginable. There is no material which has the colors an variety of colors and textures that is available in dichroic glass. Using the combination of silver and glass I create texture with the silver and color with the glass. We live in a rural environment and appreciate the beauty around us.
