  •   Not as advertised
By on
Pros : Great Idea
Cons : Instructions say there is a film to be pulled off, there is only tissue. The photo copied very weakly, i.e., pastels instead of strong colors. The Copier ink just melted away when put in water, so I could not bake.

  •   Add graphics & photos to glass projects
By on
Pros : Easy to use & transfers colors & design to glass surface faithfully. The Color Slide provides for different levels of transparency depending on the colors in the graphics. You can enhance those colors with your choice of glass color. The creative possibilities are endless & this is a great way to add art & color to your glass creations. I originally bought the Color Slide to permanently transfer graphic designs to clear glass cutting boards. I reverse printed the designs on plain white, copy paper & used a local printing outlet's color copier to transfer the images to the Color Slide sheets. The images printed to the Color Slide sheets beautifully (with one exception, as noted in cons). I was very pleased with how the images then transferred to the glass during the baking process. I attached stained glass to the back of the cutting board, over the graphic, providing a colorful background for the Color Slide image. Now the finished project is both art for the wall & a unique cutting boar
Cons : During the copying process the Color Slide sheets were getting jammed in the copier because the heat generated by the copier melted the Color Slide film. I wasted a few sheets at first. I decided the leading edge of the Color Slide sheet, to be copied to, needed to be connected more firmly to the backing it comes on so it wouldn't get jammed in the copier. I used scotch tape, which worked perfectly. Just make sure you leave enough space between the leading edge of the Color Slide sheet & your design so that when you crop the graphic you have the recommended boarder width left of about a 1/4 inch.
Other Thoughts : It would be nice if the Color Slides were offered for sale in various sheet amounts so that there would a discount for larger sheet count purchases and I think the directions for use that come with the packaging is vague. There should be some text about why you have to use a laser printer or a color copier.

  •   This product is great if you use a color laser cop
By on
Pros : Sharp, brilliant images when printed properly on a color laser as directed. These are designed only for color laser printer, do not use inkjet printers for this product. If you do not have a color laser take your file to OfficeMax and have them print them on their color laser. The color laser settings at my OfficeMax are: Use tray 5, paper in SEF format, and use coated 2 setting. They come out exceptional and do not jam at these settings.
Cons : Getting the sheets to feed properly in a color laser is trial and error. Once you get the proper color laser setting you are good to go.

  •   Color Slides
By on
Pros : This product has opened up a whole new realm for being creative with glass. Your options are unlimited.
Cons : You must have or have accesss to a laser printer to use this product.
Other Thoughts : You have to remember that white will show up as clear on the glass. I usually use white or off white glass under the color slides. Also, to avoid bubbles in your picture, it is really important to let it dry COMPLETELY before baking.

  •   Great Product!
By on
Pros : I have literally used hundreds of these sheets and they work great! The color is super and the ease of use is unsurpassable. Great for decorative items!
Cons : None.
Other Thoughts : I wish it were permanent for functional items such as glasses and ceramic cups. You can put it on but it won't hold up to the dishwasher.

  •   Love this stuff
By on
Pros : Works well with reproductions of my silk paintings, allowing me to further customize my jewelry. After applying, I use a spray varnish to help maintain permanency. I want to use with my wind chimes, and will be placing the design between 2 sheets of clear to accomplish this.
Cons : As mentioned elsewhere - white becomes clear, so be aware of that. Also, if you use transparent glass and cut around the design, you will be able to see the carrier. Finally, be careful when removing the bubbles. If you work it too much, you will end up tearing the piece, as I did. So it's best not to work with too large a piece.

  •   Love It!

Pros : Works great! Easy to use.
Cons :
Other Thoughts : Select picture resolution for best color, if it beads up and smears you are using the wrong printer, need to use laser printer as directed. Follow directions and you will have no problems.

  •   Very dissapointed
By on
Pros : Haven't found any yet except the directions are easy to read and follow......but!
Cons : Ink pools, I have tried 3 sheets, just put new ink in the printer. 30 minutes off the printer, the picture is faded, the ink is still wet. This is very expensive paper and costly in a color printer. I have thoroughly reviewed the directions - I am used to working with water slides, but I can't even get this one to the water - I don't recommend people waste their money on this product. Possibly this paper is defective? I am printing on the glossy side as indicated. I have allowed the print to stand in the tray still no success.

  •   Creative Images Color Slide
By on
Pros : easy to work with, decals come off paper as described. I ensured the crispest images possible by using digital images all copied to a standard Word document, then printed directly from this doc.
Cons : I found I had to use white glass, as the white in the pictures came off the decal paper as clear - ie no white transferred. Dark glass - the decal disappeared. If you use white glass, the colors are true.
Other Thoughts : wasted the first sheet as it sort of melted in the laser printer, second sheet was perfect.
