Fused Glass Mosaic

Experience Required: No fusing, mosaic, or glass cutting experience required.

Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on projects

Class Description: Looking for something different to do with your leftover fusible scrap bits, or just to have something truly unique in your home? Combine the sleek, modern look of kiln cast glass and the old school appeal of mosaic with this fun filled 4 1/2 hour class. Create your own mosaic on a 9” circle. Design tips and achieving the appearance of grout lines will be covered in class. Projects will be fired by the instructor after class and will be ready to pick up after a week, or shipped to you for a small fee.

All tools and materials for this class are covered with enrollment. This includes but is not limited to: fusible glass and frits as needed, Fusible Hangers for display if chosen. Use of our brushes, spoons, tweezers, GlasTac, etc.

Safety: Closed toed shoes are recommended when cutting or handling glass. Safety glasses should be worn when cutting glass, and will be provided if necessary.

Additional Tools & Materials: It is recommended to bring design inspiration for your piece! When choosing a reference photo, stick to simple shapes/ outlines, or search for clipart of your desired image (ex: clipart flower). We will have paper available if you wish to draw your pattern.

Great class!

Pros : I have never worked with glass before and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Isabelle also gave great tips on how to create an artistically interesting piece.

Cons : Because it was my first time I think I was a bit ambitious and worried I was going to finish my piece in time.

Other Thoughts : I would definitely take this class again and look forward to trying other class offerings.

Great Instructor Isabelle Fun Class

Pros : The instructor teaches you the basic techniques for creating a fused glass art product. My instructor, Isabelle, was an extraordinary instructor. She was patient with clients in the class, she taught many techniques, she was sensitive to people asking for help, she ran around for everyone making sure that all of the students had what they needed, and she gave advice and extra help. It was a fun afternoon, maybe I was lucky that the other folks in class were fun and friendly, but most importantly, Isabelle made the class work for everyone. I was very happy.

Cons : The only con that might exist for some people is that the chairs are high tops. I have hip replacements and high top chairs are painful for me, but Isabelle worked with me to find a way for me to be comfortable. I was very happy.

Fun Class, Great Instructor

Pros : Enjoyed learning this new technique. Isabelle is a wonderful instructor and artist. She was very patient, empathetic and kind with us as we learned the process and she aptly took care of all our needs and supplies. Highly recommend.
