Starts:        Ends:

Where:  Delphi's Lansing Creativity Center

When:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join stained glass artist Margo Marquette in this intriguing three-day stained glass class.
Openwork style overlay can add wonderful detail and accents to stained glass panels including grass, leaf vein patterns, animal fur, abstract designs, etc.  This class will cover the basics and best practices of using openwork style overlay (cut and soldered after it is adhered to the glass).  Class includes techniques for designing and adding the overlay, creating shadows and glass plating with overlay, and soldering the overlay.

Students will be required to bring an 8 to 12 piece pre-fitted rectangular panel - completely unsoldered and with no copper tape attached. The final dimensions of this panel should be no larger than 1’ x 1’.  Smooth, translucent glass is strongly recommended wherever the overlay will go - usually every piece.  If textured glass is used, the texture must be face down so the overlay can be cut on the smooth side.
Please email the instructor your glass design ahead of time for approval and to discuss possible overlay design ideas.
