Art Glass Overlay has been in the Southern California area since 1989. Penny Kachuck, owner, and Brandy Sebastian, designer have a collective art glass experience, starting in Texas in 1981, of over 40 years. With a passion of decorative glass, Penny has worked with traditional stained glass(lead and foil), single-stage blasted glass and overlay glass for 30+ years. She has created designs for studios in San Diego, Carlsbad and Woodland Hills, CA and now for her business Art Glass Overlay. Brandy has assisted with Art Glass Overlay in the Carlsbad and Fallbrook area now for over 10 years. Altho it is clear Brandy is a wonderful stained glass artist her true passion lies with her photography business, Sebastianphoto. The stained glass overlay process has been around since the 70's but 1st arrived in the US in the mid 80's. Using clear tempered glass, lead with color and clear coating and color/texture lamination a modern spin on stained glass is created. Traditional glass bevels, jewels and globs are also added as an accent. With a UV inhibitor, the end result gives the client style, creativity, function and art.
