Bio

Tammy Ruiz is a self-taught artist who specializes in custom pyrography, kiln-formed glass, stained glass, mosaics, and painting. She has a Master’s Degree as a Registered Nurse- Nurse Educator and enjoys expressing herself through compassion and creativity. Tammy was born in Ohio, spent several years in Kentucky and Virginia, and currently resides in Pennsylvania. Her artistic endeavors began at age 13 with simple landscape drawings. As a young adult, she began painting landscapes and nudes (using both acrylic and oil). Over the last few years, her art has branched off into use of several different mediums including stained glass, kiln-formed glass, and pyrography. Currently, in addition to her nursing career, she has been doing commissioned pyrography of people’s homes. Many artistic friends and family members inspire Tammy. She prides herself on her ability to transform something simple into an amazing artistic creation. Diversity is important to her in her artwork and she continues to try different techniques to keep her work unique.

This is an incredible piece for many reasons. I love the beauty in the glass and know the time and effort that was involved in making this must have been extensive. The creativity behind the name and the involvement of "political correctness" is very creative. Great work!
