@whirlwind Based upon the information provided by the artist that created this piece, I believe your interpretation is correct. It appears that each piece is cut and shaped, then carefully positioned before being tack fired. Many artists find that a fusing adhesive such as Glastac is helpful in keeping pieces positioned as desired. This is a beautiful representation of a tack fuse where the edges have rounded a bit, but each shape is still distinct and retains a lot of texture.

I'm new to fusing so I'm sorry if my question is silly? It looks like you decorated/fused each individual leaf but how did you assemble it? Did you lay it out and tack fuse it? I want to look up the technique but am not sure even what it's called. It's truly amazing.
