Bio

I've been working with glass about 10 years. I am mostly self taught and have only recently started taking classes in Houston. Starting with jewelry creations and now expanding to slighlty larger works. I enjoy the larger pallet to work with but continue working mainly as a jewelry artist.

CCCreations comment on Let it Snow!

The paper is between two layers of glass? What makes the snowflakes white if the paper burns away? This would be so lovely to try!

Anne: You do amazing and incredible and impossible things with glass!! Do you ever come to Houston to teach? Would like to take a class with you. I would go anywhere in Texas, and that's a big territory, to take a class with you!! Cindy C

Pattern scrap 90 on blak, March 18, 2014 3 stars
Pros
Pieces in good condition with out scratches. The pieces were a good size.
Cons
Too many pieces of the same pattern and same colors. Not enough variety. That is the chance you take with scrap.
Other Thoughts
Personally I prefer not to buy scrap, but the price at the time of purchase was pretty good.

Tie Dye Scrap Black 90, March 18, 2014 3 stars
Pros
The pieces were big and not too irregularly sized. In good condition without a lot of scratches.
Cons
Got a lot of repeat patterns (same glass) in the same color scheme (too many darks and blues) for me. Not real crazy about tie dye. this was my first experience with this pattern.
Other Thoughts
It was a great sale price. I personally would never buy scrap unless it was on sale as you don't get colors you want.

Teal Millefiori-90, March 18, 2014 3 stars
Pros
Good color and design selection. Nice variety of sizes. The larger ones enable you to cut them down to smaller slices if you want a smaller fusing result which actually gives you more product.
Cons
Nothing I can think of.
Other Thoughts
Expect more yellow centers. I had more yellows, which suited me just fine. Great accent pieces. I purchased when on sale making it a good buy.

Sturdy, stable, July 30, 2013 5 stars
Pros
Sturdy, stable, good finish. Good value. See my 8" review for more details.
Cons
Would like to see Delphi give dimension of iron and how high the legs are from the table surface. Would help the user identify what size could be best suited.
Other Thoughts
Purchased while on sale which made it an even sweeter deal. I keep wrapped separate to help minimize scratches to iron. But feel it doesn't scratch easily.

Good size & variety, July 30, 2013 4 stars
Pros
Good sized pieces, over an inch square. Good for jewelry. Good variety. I prefer to buy when on sale.
Cons
Didn't find any.
Other Thoughts
Bagged all surfaces touching, but not scratched.

Sturdy, durable, July 30, 2013 5 stars
Pros
Good value for the money. Stable, sturdy, coating looks and feels nice. (See my 8" Stand review for more details)
Cons
The iron is square. Delphi should provide the diameter of the iron used to help user decide the size of piece it could hold.
Other Thoughts
The legs are about 2 1/4" from the table surface and your glass will sit about 2 1/2" of table surface. All sizes except the 6" have the same length of legs. Delphi could also provide those dimensions.

Sturdy, stable, July 30, 2013 5 stars
Pros
This iron stand is a good value for the money. The welds are smooth and well connected. The coating seems durable. They travel to my shows, but I keep them wrapped separate to minimize scratching. Stability wise, it can hold a piece much larger than it's measurements. The iron is square and is about 3/8" in diameter making it sturdy. It would be beneficial if Delphi would provide the exact diameter of the iron itself in all the descriptions as it makes a difference in the piece that is set on it. Slight possibility of seeing the touch point if the glass is light opaque.
Cons
Not in quality. Delphi could provide the diameter of the iron in each stand.
Other Thoughts
Sits flat on surface. Also is even across if your glass is square. Your glass sits about 2 1/2" off table surface when on the stand. Could be important if your piece is odd shaped and dips down irregularly and is not straight across. (Hard to describe.)

Mega cut density, July 29, 2013 4 stars
Pros
Mega blade, mega cut density. Great blade for thick fired pieces of glass. Personally have only cut up to 6-8 mm thick glass, but can't see why it wouldn't cut for example pattern bars. As all diamond blades, they are best when first installed. Suggest bigger projects or thicker glass be cut first when you install a new blade. Much sharper and faster. But depending on how much you actually cut, can last a decent time period. The blade is hard to break, very sturdy. I've used Taurus 10+ years and only broke 3. Two of which I used so long that I had to push with great force to cut through the glass and the force actually broke the blade (guess I wore off all the diamonds :)). The other time, I was pretty novice and tried to make too many intricate turns too fast. Makes good straight cuts, recommend blade stabilizer be used on older model saws. Helps to keep the cut straight. Can make intricuts, straighter is better and slower is better than faster (movement).
Cons
No diamond blade at these prices last long enough, right? Only slightly harder to install than the round blade.
Other Thoughts
I'm a Taurus user and never had any other saw. So I have no comparison to saws or blades. I own two.
