MR-97 Boron Nitride Mold Release - 13 Oz

MR-97 Boron Nitride Mold Release - 13 Oz

Item# 93702
Hassle-free, November 2, 2014 5 stars
Pros
This stuff is great! Uno messy kiln wash and hours to dry, and no debris from used shelf paper. Dries in about 20 min., 2 light coats for the first use, and only one before each use thereafter. Very economical as it goes a long way.
Cons
Once you use it on a ceramic mold, you can't use kiln wash on it
Other Thoughts
For pate de vere molds, use an extra coat first time
Christmas Tree Millefiori - 90 COE

Christmas Tree Millefiori - 90 COE

Item# 94619
Miniscule, January 1, 2014 1 stars
Pros
None
Cons
These are incredibly tiny:1/8" diameter by 1/16th" thick. They are so tiny they don't get any bigger or spread out by fusing on thicker glass; you need a magnifying glass to tell. If the tree is right side up, and the little snowflakes are completely invisible to the naked eye. Pack contains about 25 pcs, collectively would not cover a quarter coin.

Great Product!, October 8, 2011 5 stars
Pros
It leaves a really smooth, satin finish on the back of the piece. The color (light purple) before firing does not fade out as much as other products I've used, so its easy to tell primed vs unprimed shelves apart.
Cons
A little more work to mix as it really clumps up. However, two marbles were included in the bag, and if you use these and shake in a closed container it's a snap.
Medium Fall Leaves Assortment - 150 Pieces

Medium Fall Leaves Assortment - 150 Pieces

Item# 424831
Muddy colors, August 29, 2011 1 stars
Pros
Pre-cut shapes are easy to use.
Cons
The green leaves are flat gray; what appears to be apple green is a very light yellow. Instead of a vibrant mix, it is a dull and dreary selection.
Uroboros Fire Ups Glass Pack - 90 COE

Uroboros Fire Ups Glass Pack - 90 COE

Item# FIREUPS
Well worth the price, December 29, 2010 5 stars
Pros
These pieces are a full 12x12 and much more versatile than other packs, with a good variety of glass.
Cons
none so far

Essential tool, December 12, 2010 5 stars
Pros
The articulated arm on a slider gives exceptional range, allowing a single cut 20" long without lifting. The cutter is weighted and provides a uniform weight and easily manageable cutter. This tool quickly replaced all other hand cutters / scorers. It is a "must-have" to prevent wrist fatigue
Cons
The cutter oil feeder is great, but the oil quickly drained out, and the oil reservoir had to be filled with each use
Other Thoughts
it's companion, Circle Pro, is an equally essential tool!
Bullseye GlasTac Firing Glue - 4 oz

The best available, March 6, 2010 4 stars
Pros
Dries slowly, allows repositioning, and because it burns off, you don't have to re-clean the glass every time you move a piece. Best used for frit and small pieces of glass. The bond is really only a "tack" and a little goes a long way.
Cons
Not a strong adhesive, and does not work well on larger pieces of glass, as the slightest jostling -- like moving to the kiln -- will dislodge anything along the rim.

Essential, March 6, 2010 5 stars
Pros
A fusing staple, it is best used for frit and small pieces of glass. It is easy to use and a little goes a long way. It is slow to dry, and burns off cleanly, so if you do reposition a piece you usually do not have to clean re-clean the glass every time you move a piece.
Cons
It is not a strong adhesive, which is both good and bad: it's easy to change your mind and remove a piece long after it has dried, but if used on larger pieces, particularly around the edges of a piece, the bond is lost by a very slight jostling, such as the mere process of putting the piece in the kiln.

Grrrrrrr ..., March 6, 2010 2 stars
Pros
It is easier to apply than brushed on kiln wash.
Cons
I did not get complete coverage and the glass stuck to the mold. On the 2nd try I gave it 2 coats, and again had glass stick
Other Thoughts
After reading the other glowing posts, I aim to try again.
