"Charles' Purple Rose", Copper Foil/Stained Glass Panel

Description:

Handmade art nouveau copper foil/stained glass hanging panel with 25+ pieces. The opalescent wispy glasses provide a complete sense of privacy, but when the light transmits through, the warmth of its cloud trails release the greatness of the artwork. The copper foil was chemically treated to achieve a vintage touch, and the purple aluminum frame gives to “Charles’ Purple Rose” a sense of romantic sophistication.

The piece has American glass. Its whole assembly and framing were done at Evettro’s Southern California studio.

Inspiration:

The Art Nouveau ornamental style flourished between 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. It is characterized by its use of long, sinuous and organic lines, inspired by the form of flower stalks, vine tendrils, insect wings, and other delicate and natural objects.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928), a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist, was one on the most important Art Nouveau representatives. Mackintosh, magnificently, combined slender curves, soft opalescent colors, clean vibrant geometric frameworks and stylized distortions.

Roses will always be a symbol of grace and elegance. Purple is a color associated with elegance and grandeur.

“Charles’ Purple Rose” is a romantic and opulent tribute to one of the greatest architects and designers of the 20th century.
