Magnolia and Bees

This 3 foot by 4 1/2 foot window was custom designed for a mother's 70th birthday.  It was a commission as a gift from her children. I met with her children to talk through some of her favorite things and hobbies to come up with the inspiration for the design. I found out that her favorite flower is the magnolia and she is a bee keeper by hobby, The bees included in the piece are 1 larger bee, the mother, and 5 smaller bees, the children.  This designed was custom drawn and created. Eventually this panel was built into a large window in the woman's home.   

It is made from stained glass sheets, 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch lead came, and 1/2 inch zinc U came.
