The added blade length and taller stature allow 4-1/2" of blade clearance with the upper blade guides in place. If extra depth is needed, the top blade guide can be removed to provide an incredible 5-1/2" of clearance. This unique feature makes the C-40 Tall Band Saw ideal for cutting glass bottles of any shape. The 42" long blade removes a thin line (approximately .020" wide) of material as it cuts, so you can make precision cuts without wasting glass. A one square foot work surface
