  •   Hi-Temp 1800 mold release works for glass fusing
By on
Pros : I used this mold release on a stainless steel mold prior to draping glass to form a coral bowl. It worked perfectly all three times I've used the product. I'll be using it again for sure.
Cons : No cons that I can think of.

  •   Use more then directed
By on
Pros : I decided to try this product and used it on a large, stainless, sink mold. It worked great, released with a few taps and wiped clean easily. I have used it numberous times, but only on stainless molds.
Cons : Directions say to use 4 thin coats. I used more like 6. The one time I used 4 I had a harder time getting the glass to release so if you do try this product I would recommend using 6 thin coats.

  •   Don't recommend
By on
Pros :
Cons : I thought this would be a more economical substitute. It wasn't... I sprayed my mold as directed, glass stuck, I had to pry/ chip it out
Other Thoughts : Will not buy again

  •   glass stuck in casting mold
By on
Pros : Despite high hopes, when I tried this product exactly as directed (4 thin coats in casting mold with post to create a hole for hanging), my glass pendant was firmly stuck!
Cons : cheaper than MR-97
Other Thoughts : I finally was able to get my pendant to release from the mold by freezing it for 20 mins and then tapping mold firmly.

  •   Back for More!
By on
Pros : Love this product. Purchased it and it sat on my shelf for 2 years. Finally used it on a stainless steel mold for candle holders. I get 2-3 uses before I have to recoat. I had no idea you could use on ceramic molds....definitely will be trying that next! I am so glad that we can write reviews on here, because I am constantly reviewing the products I buy, and honestly this product has been a god send for me this christmas crafting season. It is either buy multiple molds to meet demand, or speed up the processing time buy using a product such as this. Great price too compared to other spray products.
Cons : None so far.
Other Thoughts : Plan to use this on my fused bangle mold! The fusing paper is just way too difficult to use with this mold in comparison to the SLIDE!

  •   Glass is fused in my mold
By on
Pros : Others have had good luck with this product and I am going to try it on stainless to try my luck with slumping.
Cons : My problem is really with the lack of instruction on how to use this spray. I applied 4 coats but I don't think I got the spay on thick enough and so the glass is now fused in my mold. I wish this would have come with more detailed instruction. I am fairly new to fusing and molding glass and I wish I would have researched this more before I ruined the mold.
Other Thoughts : This was a learning experience and I will just keep on experimenting.

  •   Very disappointed
By on
Pros : Easy to apply.
Cons : After applying 4 coats in criss-crossing directions to kiln shelf and stainless mold for a pot melt (1700 degrees), I was appalled when I opened the kiln to find the pot melt shattered since the glass stuck to both the shelf and stainless mold.
Other Thoughts : I thought I'd found the perfect answer to making pot melts easier. Couldn't have been more wrong. It may work at lower temps. as does most boron nitride, but definitely not at casting temps.

Pros : This is absolutely the worse!!! It broke 2 molds when I followed instructions extremely carefully. I tried it on the kiln shelf and it was stuck and ruined it as well.
Cons : It's the worse product! It doesn't work as described. Will break your molds!!!

  •   Grrrrrrr ...
By on
Pros : It is easier to apply than brushed on kiln wash.
Cons : I did not get complete coverage and the glass stuck to the mold. On the 2nd try I gave it 2 coats, and again had glass stick
Other Thoughts : After reading the other glowing posts, I aim to try again.

  •   Very upsetting
By on
Pros : Much easier to use than kiln wash.
Cons : Spray is the same color as the molds, so it's easy to miss spots. I applied 4 coats to all my molds. I now have chips out of 3 molds & wont be using this product again. The kiln wash will save me a lot of money, in more ways then one.
Other Thoughts : If this was a colored spray, I would give it another try.

Pros : I like that this is easy to use. It's fast to apply and releases easily.
Cons : Not as good coverage as the brushed on mold release.
Other Thoughts : The old fashioned mold release is still better but this definitely is worth the price.
