Bio

I have always been a crafter. In the 70's I was into macrame. Needlework was my passion in the 80's. During the 90's I took classes in pottery and still own (and occasionally still use) a wheel and a kiln. In 2004 I took a stained glass class and am still finding great delight in working with glass. I am just beginning to explore avenues for selling my work.

4 Etched Flower Bevel

4" Etched Flower Bevel

Item# 5251F
Fabulous Accent Bevel, March 26, 2013 5 stars
Pros
This beveled tile is really deeply etched. I also love that it's the background rather than the flower that's etched. Some etched bevels are beautiful, but not very showy in your piece.
Cons
none

Amazing!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
I ordered these during one of the annual bevel sales. It was a long time before I got around to using them in a panel and I was blown away by how pretty they were in the finished piece. They are very well made, a beautiful shade of green. They're just....well, amazing!
Cons
Other Thoughts
Watch for these to be on sale!

Stunning Bevel, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
This is a really pretty bevel cluster that fit together well. With very little additional glass cutting it made a beautiful panel for a wedding present.
Cons
Absolutely none!
Other Thoughts
Celtic knots are very popular. They also make lovely wedding gifts ...research celtic knots for meaning and you'll see what I mean. I made a little card to go with the panel that explained how the knot relates to marriage. It was a sweet gift.

Another MUST have!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
A perfectly squared up panel is a necessity to me, so I use my steel square tool to get perfect 90 degree angles while pinning the layout blocks down. Also, if you're keeping your panel within a certain size, your outside dimensions are there to work within! I never work without my layout blocks.
Cons
Can't think of a single bad thing!
Other Thoughts
I have an abundance of these in all available lengths. I wish they came in circular pieces too!

Permanent Fixture, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
My homosote stays on my work table. It is ugly after years of laying out and soldering on it. I can't imagine how you do stained glass without this product.
Cons

I can see!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
I have one of these positioned between my grinder and my saw. It's amazing how much better my pieces fit together when I can actually see what I'm grinding off! I literally NEVER grind without the light and magnifier.
Cons
Lets see....better lighting, magnified view....nope, no cons!
Other Thoughts
I worried at first about water splashing on the hot light, but so far haven't had any issues with it.

Saves a big mess!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
It's amazing how much ground glass "slurry" this back splash catches. Every once in awhile, when I actually notice the build up on it, I take it outside and hose it off. Voila! Almost like new.
Cons
None. I've used the same one for years and years.

A real need!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
This isn't rocket science. I use one grid under my grinder and one for my cutting surface. It catches all those nasty little shards. You know, the ones that stick in your fingers when you accidentally wipe your hand across the work table.
Cons
None!
Other Thoughts
I've used the same 2 grids for years. Occasionally I carefully carry them out to the trash and dump them out. Follow up with a good spray with the garden hose and they're like new.

Can't work without it!, August 10, 2012 5 stars
Pros
I think the best addition to my studio has been this saw. I suppose a purist wouldn't approve, but I save glass and aggravation by taking my difficult cuts to the saw. I've had mine for 4 years and am on the second blade.
Cons
The replacement blades are expensive. However, if you watch for them on sale and take care to use your saw correctly, the expense isn't really so bad.
Inland Portable Fume Trap

Inland Portable Fume Trap

Item# 60010
Good little fume trap, August 10, 2012 4 stars
Pros
It works just as advertised. All of the previous reviewers said you have to have it practically on top of your work and that I agree with. Still, it does pull in the fumes. I just move it around a lot. It is actually light enough to set on your panel if necessary. I especially appreciate it when I use my tinning block which I set right in front of the trap.
Cons
None really....
