Pros
Worked fine for a short time. Made it very easy to run edges.

Cons
After a short time, the foil no longer applies evenly. There is always one side with more foil than the other. This issue is accelerated by foiling ground glass. It has worn the guiding edges very quickly.

Other Thoughts
Great idea, just wears out too quickly. I wish someone would suggest how many feet of foil can be applied before the item wears out. It felt just like getting 27,000 miles out of a 60,000 mile tire.

After very little use, the foiler no longer centers the foil on the glass. Great if you like uneven seams.

A friend purchased one of these and allowed me to try it to bend some came for a circular piece. Neither of us could figure out how to use it, and she now has a spare boat anchor under her work bench.

Other Thoughts
I cannot understand how someone can market such an item with no directions.

Lamp Wedge Support

Pros
It easily lines up the edges. It is also very resistant to flux, and is easy to clean.

Cons
I have one of these units, and it is out of square by about 3 degrees. I know this does not sound like much, but the sides do not line up on boxes of any appreciable size.

Other Thoughts
I like the other reviewers idea about using wedgies for the first two pieces. That third hand comes in handy whenever you are doing boxes.

Foil Dispenser

Pros
Keeps foil neat, organized, and untangled. No need to constantly untwist foil as when laying foil rolls on the workbench.

Cons
Foil is exposed to oxidation issues.

Other Thoughts
I use several of these, one for copper backed foil, one for silver backed foil and one for black backed foil. Another idea is to keep the entire dispenser in a ziplock bag when not in use for an extended period - helps reduce oxidation.
