perfect for a quick pendant or a workshop with guests the edges weren't sharp and were fairly even

Cons
Not perfectly unifform and at least one had sticky stuff on the surface I had to remove

I've gotten them in clear and black, but I wish they had these in white or cream

Pros
With the open back and so many folding prongs it's very adjustable setting for your choice of stone/glass and doesn't require a perfectly smooth cabochon, the ring itself is also adjustable in size

Cons
The sizes able to be adjusted to are still quite limited and not very good for even average hands if you want it on a middle or pointer finger, it maxes around size 7.5, and 7 is the average size in jewelry stores for a reason. Not sure how many times it can adjust without breaking, but that's always a concern with any form of adjustablity.

Other Thoughts
I do wish it came in other finishes/metals the bass looks "dirty" and cheap to my older aunt who I was making the ring for

Round Key Holder

Pros
This is not a thin or easily broken wire for the actual key holding part, very sturdy and feels substantial. The lip means it's also useful for resin

Cons
The bottom of the interior is totally smooth, which can make it a bit hard to secure the cab with just glue. I had an acquaintance who picked this for her project at a local maker craft place bring hers to me and she asked me re-glue it after it came apart in less than a week. I advised her it really needs epoxy to secure it in such a high use item, but it made me leery of kiln edged glass (ie. irregular) in such a high contact, daily use item, so I put in a lot of work to fit my glass and polish it down to a perfect cabochon.

Other Thoughts
While the smooth interior may be preferred if you want a shiny silver back to it for resin or a clear glass base, I really feel like it needs scuffing if you're going to adhere your glass with glue, and maybe even with a 2 part epoxy/resin Over all I will likely purchase again

Cons
the soft rubberized part feels like plastic, and I try to avoid that for food and drink to avoid micro plastics

Other Thoughts
I have not used in a wine bottle, so I don't know if it will be prone to pitting, was a bit annoying trying to get the base glob to a perfectly sized cabochon so it wasn't as fast as a pre made thing might suggest

These are "medium" but they're the largest size I use and I've never had an issue with the weight making it bend or break. In over 5 years of use I haven't seen any tarnish, though I haven't left them exposed to any chemicals

Other Thoughts
I often use these with 3" or 4" circles when I host ornament workshops with Girl Scouts. So I know with E6000 they can take a good bit of weight, but I might suggest epoxy for anything being worn regularly by a person, esp if they fidget with it

Beautiful purples and blues with a ton of adventur, July 8, 2025 5 stars

Pros
The purples are clear, the blues and whites are opaque and there's adventurine sparkles swirled throughout

Cons
Like most very swirly glass, it's a bit hard to cut, as even the "smooth side" is a bit irregular. Also, at one of my sheets (out of 4)had a chunk of ceramic type material embedded in the top of the sheet, but at least it was near the edge so the whole square foot isn't a bust

Other Thoughts
It's a mix of clears and opaques with a lot of sparkle from the adventurine, the colors stay true when firing and while they are very dark, the do make for a nice conversation piece.

Pros
Shelf paper is faster to use than kiln wash. You can cut large rolls to fit your shelf or slump form and use just what you need as you need it and not waste any.

Cons
Forget the reviews from years ago saying it lasts multiple firings, Now it doesn't even work for a single run without flaking and getting fibers stuck in my larger pieces. Smaller globs and dots will rip the paper just from the glass edges moving to ball stage. Even small and medium pieces without fibers stuck to them end up with very rough and uneven backs, On top of, I have to test another shelf paper brand to be sure, but I've been seeing a LOT more devitrification, esp in the opaque glasses and I'm afraid it's the papyros off gassing and triggering it.

Other Thoughts
When I first got my kiln, it was second hand and came with Papyros sheets that had been pre-cut to fit that shelf, I could use those 2 or even up to 4 times if I was very careful. When I started running low, my local store only carried bullseye so I bought that, and it was nice, but expensive so when they closed I figured it'd make sense to buy a nice big roll of cheaper Papyros that I could cut to the correct size, save $$ and not have weird random sheet edges left over. I cut several pieces for my kiln so they could relax, as it was VERY stiff and the roll is so big that my workshop doesn't have space to leave it out. I calculated I could get 66+ sheets and figured that would be around 100 to 150 firings, but after I used it, I almost can't stand that it will take 66 firings to use up, and if it is the de-vit cause, I will have to toss the whole thing. I made the mistake of buying in bulk to save money and now it may all be a waste. :(

Pros
The cross is a good size for the really small scrap and chips I tend to get as jewelry off-cuttings and large enough it doesn't feel like it will snap as a necklace.

Cons
The post on the one I got was really weak. I used ZYP and sprayed from every angle, but I still lost the post on the second use. It came out of the finished piece, but it didn't stay attached to the mold.... I've just been wrapping a piece of nickel chromium alum wire with fiber paper and putting it in the hole of the first one. That works okay, but I still have to clean up the hole and I'm always concerned the jury rigged set up will fail and it will leak.

Other Thoughts
The original hole ends up so big that it kinda throws off the balance, I actually like my jury rigged version better when it comes to size because I can keep that to a smaller, round hole that I put a finding through. But I'm still considering getting another one in the hopes that it's not so weak.

These will save me time and effort when I need to make a bunch of uniform items or my upcoming workshop with several inexperienced glass artists who will be decorating with frit and accessory glass or enamel painting.

Cons
I wish they had 3 inch, these are heavy and large for my planned ornaments.

Other Thoughts
I have concerns about the edges being cloudy when fired, while not sharp, they aren't exactly smooth.

Pros
These are perfect for a smooth straight line, great for boarders, but I like using them kinda like tape to hold two colors together on a base next to each other without pulling away from each other. They also work for accents and details in designs. They are so thin you can snap to a good length with your fingers, but if you want precision, you can use a cutter and pliers to get just exactly the right length and angles.

Cons
I wish I could get all one color, but then some of the colors in the mix don't seem to be available on their own from Oceanside. /shrug Also, it can be hard to tell which ones will turn opaque or strike (change color) when fired.so it's often a good bet to break off just a bit from the very end and run it through a cycle to be sure.

Other Thoughts
Nip them into squares (can be stacked for large dots/color saturation) to make uniform dots quickly and easily. Another trick is to put several on their sides next to each other and place on a base glass to make thin stripes I also like taking the niped squares and using them like mosaics on clear base glass then firing face down on a tack fuse.
