La Guardiana, El Mantinal de la Leon

 I have used kilned formed glass and 3/8" mosiac glass tile to create this 10 foot x 10 foot backdrop for this fountain. The water comes from beneath the lion"s feet and falls into three basins before falling into the pond.  

I live outside of Oaxaca, Mexico in a mountain side village called San Agustin, Etla. There is an aquafur that comes to the surface and provides water to San Agustin.  This work is a very personal creation that depicts "The Spring of the Lion" overlooking the valley and guarding the gardens, pets, and animals past and present of my home in this very special place in the world.
