Screaming Eagle

Description:

This is a 18"X23" 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagle"  With the talent of my Veteran son, the pattern was developed from one of his patches. This piece was made in honor of all the troops that have served or are serving our country. I used Opal White for the head and used my Taurus 3 saw to make the intricate cuts, so the eagle's head is a solid piece. I then used Opal black for the background and the attached badge. I sandblasted the "Airborne" into the badge, then painted it yellow with enamel paint.  This piece is copper foiled and I used 60/40 solder, with rebar between badge and eagle for stability.. The entire piece is finished with black patina. I then used 1/4" zinc came to encase the project.
