A striking stained glass tree of life design made of clear and black iridescent glass. The black tree branches out into a clear circle.
The black glass used for the tree shines with purple and blue tones, and also has a mirror quality. The clear glass has a crackly pattern with ridges in the glass at the back of the piece. The clear glass shows color tones of pink and purple in the light. The piece is designed so that the black glass is the main tree trunk and limbs, then the solder lines form the smaller branches. I created the pattern of a tree of life without leaves, mainly in order to show the branch pattern more effectively. I also like the idea of a tree in winter-not green, but alive and waiting to show it's potential.
The piece hangs from two circle hooks embedded in the solder at the top back of the tree. It measures 7.5 inches around. (19 cm)
