Home is Where the Honey is, #1

This work was inspired by my love of gardening... and honey!

Materials: copper from discarded electrical wire, discarded steel wire found on the curb, dichroic glass, coe 90 and coe 96 scrap glass, bubble powder

Dimensions: 6.25" L x 5.25" W x .5" H

Although it is a small piece, it took several hours to create! I stripped the copper from small pieces of discarded electrical wire. Then, I painstakingly arranged small pieces of coe 90 scrap to create the honeycomb, which was fired 3 times for uniform thickness. The bees were created from coe 96 scrap. They were fired separately and added to the honeycomb when complete.
