Recycle Glass Bowls and sculpture

0 loves
Description:

I used discarded plate glass pieces in thicknesses of 1/4" , and cut and shaped pieces using a glass cutter, glass saw and forming some pieces with a Foredom drill with diamond bits.  Plate glass is already tempered so it can be brittle and I found it's not receptive to repeated firings; it's a one shot process. I laid pieces across a large bowl mold using different schedules for different effects.  The blue green color of plate glass is so beautiful and looks like water! The first picture is "Mountain Waterfall", the second is "Chaos", the third is "Star Bowl", and my last two are sculptures I did from plate glass and then used glass paint to paint surfaces on the front and back; in order: "Tears for my Daughters" and "Mother's Tears".
