Description:
Giving new life to old glass.
What were once old drinking glasses and a clear beer bottle now have a second life as a modern, fun necklace. The frosty clear, aqua and yellow glass are very cheerful colors and help to remind you that Spring is right around the corner.
The glass was cut up and kiln fired by me with small pieces of round copper. After the first kiln firing and cooling; the rough edges were ground down and then the piece was polished. Because this is recycled glass, there are slight imperfections in the glass surface which add interest to the piece. Silver plated wire was used to wrap the glass and create the hanging loops.
The glass piece range in size from 1/2" TO 1 1/4" in width and length.

Interesting twist with the round copper vs. the many recycled glass beads that are out there now. Would love to use the photo in a future blog post on recycled glass and design. See http://myartgrant.blogspot.com Thanks. Cindy
