I made this piece as a gift for my brother who is the Head Brewer at Ranger Creek Brewery and Distillery in San Antonio, Texas. This is the brewery's logo, though somewhat altered for glasswork.
I decided to use clear textured glass for this piece as I thought colored glass would detract from the design itself. The star is all glue chip, the "creek" is clear waterglass, the background is rain glass and the outside circle is clear frosted glass.
I used a copper patina for the solder as an homage to the stills used in the brewery and I custom-made the frame out of oak as a tribute to the oak barrels used to age the whiskey.
