Looking on of Lives

My husband and I created this custom stained glass panel (10" x 12") for our front door when we had a new one made. The panel represents earth, air and sea - the flower, the dragonfly and the snail. The heart represents hope for love in our home. All the green glass was dug from our front yard as we landscaped. Our house was built on the site of the Hampton Terrace Hotel, a magnificent resort destination for people like the Vanderbilts. It burned to the ground on New Year's Eve, 1916. The glass is from the hotel's wine bottles. The best part of this project was doing it together.
