African Beauty

This is my first mosaic project and I fully immersed myself in it.   I wanted to try mixed media and I finally decided to use sea shells for the hair portion.  I have been doing stained glass for many years so cutting the glass was the easy part, the grouting I found a bit more challenging.  

I enjoyed doing this so much that I am now shifting my focus to mosaic.  I have many projects I want to tackle and I am turning my one African Woman mosaic into a series.  I am making African Woman II, stay tuned.
