Blue Heron

This 3D sculpture was created by layering and soldering stained glass. Many of the panels were overlayed with siver and copper wire. Then the pieces were mounted to a double helix of  copper tubing. The whole sculpture is supported by the 5 cattail stalks made from reinforced 1/4 inch copper tubing. The flowers were hand-wrought from copper. Special chip LED lights were inconspicuously installed behind the glass, making the sculpture a stunning sight when the lights are turned down low at night.
