church window sunburst

1 loves
Description:

After making several small windows for our church (which had no stained glass) my husband & I tackled making a half circle stained glass for over the double door front entry.  It is an original design: 66" x 33". We used mostly Spectrum glass and used the copper foil method with 3 radiating steel rebar to support it.

I'm submiting 3 photos: 1. work in progress,   2. installed window from inside,   3. Instlled window backlit; view from outside at night

We've been working with stained glass for 7 years, taking classes and now teaching a few others, locally, the basics of copper foil.  Also we've taught  a group of 4-Her's how to make stepping stones for a project to take to the Fair.

Actually the Delphi catalog, page 141, says it's zinc rebar. I got it confused with the Strongline Flex. Steel reinforcement, page 130. That's copper coated steel. We started using the Strongline but decided it wouldn't be enough support. Thanks for the interest. We enjoyed the project a lot but glad it's done & installed!
