American Robin

Heralded as a symbol of Spring and good fortune, the American Robin is the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This popular icon is prevalent throughout North America, and is the subject of poetry, mythology and song. My "American Robin" dish is completely hand-painted, from the grass to the gold accents. The dish is four layers thick, and has incredible depth. A variety of techniques were used- including cold combing, scratching, and painting with a fine brush.
